The “Thermography – Level 1” course, organized by the European digital innovation hub (EDIH), will begin on May 19 at the training centre of the Institute of mechanics at the Bulgarian academy of sciences (BAS) and will run until May 23 – a total of 5 days or 40 academic hours. The training will be held in person. Its main goal is to upgrade the qualifications of construction professionals in the testing and subsequent inspection of composite materials based on a concrete matrix.
This specialized course is intended for technical personnel from municipalities and from construction and supervision companies who carry out testing of structural elements in buildings and facilities. The minimum requirements for participants are a technical secondary education and at least 6 months of professional experience in applying non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to construction sites and structural components. Participants who successfully complete the course will receive Level 1 certification for thermographic testing in the construction sector, in accordance with international standards.
The “Thermography – Level 1” training includes:
- An introduction to non-destructive testing methods and terminology using infrared thermography for composite materials with a concrete matrix and structural elements,
- An overview of the physical principles behind the method,
- Knowledge of the products and structures being tested,
- Application of the methodologies and testing technologies, and
- Understanding of the technical testing equipment involved.
