The EDIH course for the second level of building information modelling with AutoDesk Revit – building structures starts on March 4

The course ” BIM with AutoDesk Revit – Level 2 ” – building structures of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) starts on March 4 in our training room and will last until March 20 – a total of 13 days or 52 hours. The training is face-to-face, and its main goal is to improve the qualifications of construction specialists by acquiring skills for using building information modeling with AutoDesk Revit in the investment process when designing building structures.
The second level of the course provides best practices for an integrated BIM workflow in Autodesk Revit. Participants will learn the basics of modeling reinforced concrete and steel structures, including reinforcement, which will be upgraded with advanced techniques and best practices. The course begins with a brief introduction to the basic processes, working methods, examines in detail the types of elements and tools and ends with the preparation of drawings and bills of quantities according to Bulgarian practice.
The training is intended for civil engineers with a degree in “Structures” who are involved in construction and investment design, project management, consulting and supervision activities or administration. They are required to have professional experience in using Autodesk Revit and basic skills in working with the program.
The training courses related to the use of BIM capabilities (more popularly known by its English abbreviation BIM for building information modeling) are the largest in number – 20 in total, in the EDIH service catalog. In practice, BIM covers the entire life cycle of buildings – from design, through construction management and operation to eventual demolition and waste recovery. In this sense, building information modeling is a key element not only for the digitalization of the industry, but also for the development of the circular economy in Bulgaria. Specialized BIM training courses provide knowledge and skills for working with specific software for managing the entire construction and investment process in construction.
The course “BIM with AutoDesk Revit – Level 2” includes a total of 17 learning modules, evenly distributed as hours between March 4 and 20. The lectures include a theoretical and practical part, as well as sharing specific good examples for implementation from practice.

EDIH’s training on digitalization of document management in construction projects will be held on March 25 and 26

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Construction Training Course on Digital Document Management in Construction Projects starts on 25 March and will last for a total of 2 days or 16 hours. The specialized training is hybrid and can be held both in the EDIH training rooms and online. The course offers knowledge and skills for applying the standards for legal requirements and document management standards in construction, as well as skills for working with digital applications for managing document flow, contracts and relations with contractors in construction, documentation for sites and properties, for quality management and compliance with various certification systems (e.g. ISO 9000, 14001, 45001, 27001, etc.) and internal audit in enterprises in the construction sector.
The document digitization course is aimed at employees of SMEs involved in project management, consultancy and supervision activities or administrations – architects and engineers from design firms, technicians from municipalities, technicians from construction and supervision firms. Participants are required to have a vocational or higher education and experience in project management in construction.
The training consists of 6 modules. The first of them includes legal requirements and standards for document management in construction – electronic documents, digitization of archives, electronic document exchange, archiving and storage. In the second module, software for managing document flow, contracts and relations with contractors in construction, construction documentation – Nzoom is mastered. The software for managing document flow, contracts and relations with contractors in construction, construction documentation – BusinessSoft.Building, will be studied in the third module. The fourth includes software for managing construction documentation, property documentation – BusinessSoft.PropertyRegister. The fifth module is dedicated to managing document flow, contracts and relations with contractors in construction, construction documentation via MS SharePoint (MS Office 365). The final sixth module includes software for quality management and compliance with various certification systems (e.g. ISO 9000, 14001, 45001, 27001, etc.) and internal audit in construction – Nzoom.

The course “BIM Applications in Construction Waste Management and Ensuring Circularity in Construction” started on February 6

The 2-day course “BIM Applications in Construction Waste Management and Circularity in Construction” of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in the construction sector begins on February 6. Due to the great interest from construction companies, the training will be held in a hybrid format – in the EDIH training room and online, with a maximum number of participants of 30.
They will learn about the digitalization of the management and control of the activities of collection, transportation and treatment of construction waste (CW), the management of the requirements for the use of recycled construction materials in construction, as well as the digitalization of CW management in the construction and demolition process. The aim is to improve the prevention and control of air, water and soil pollution through digitalization, as well as to limit the risk to human health and the environment resulting from the collection, treatment and transportation of CW, and to facilitate the processes of recycling and utilization of CW to achieve the objectives of the Waste Management Act (WMA).
The BIM dimension, 9D, which is part of the course, focuses on lean construction. It aims to optimize construction processes and reduce waste through the use of BIM. Lean construction involves a shift in focus from maximizing productivity to minimizing waste.

Higher education in the field of construction and investment design is a mandatory minimum requirement for participants in the training. It is aimed at experts who are involved in construction and investment design, project management, consulting and supervision activities or administration. The course “BIM Applications in Construction Waste Management and Ensuring Circularity in Construction” includes a total of 7 training modules on 9D BIM.
