The EDIH course on the use of drone data in a GIS environment for construction will take place from April 9 to 10

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) training course “Applications of drone data in a GIS environment for construction purposes” will be held on April 9 and 10 in a hybrid format – both in person and online.
The course will introduce participants to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and how they are connected to remote sensing. Attendees will gain knowledge on how to plan drone flights, as well as process and analyse drone-acquired data within a GIS environment. Participants will also explore the integration of drone data with other data from diverse platforms and formats to create a holistic view of a building or facility, support site analysis during planning stages, and monitor construction processes.
This specialized training is intended for engineers, architects, and designers with a completed higher education.
In addition to the theoretical part, the lectures will include practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises under the guidance of the instructor.

The EDIH course on energy efficiency using the ETICS system will take place from April 9 to 11 in Elin Pelin

The course of the European digital innovation hub (EDHICS) in the construction sector for energy efficiency using the ETICS system for advanced learners will be held at the Vocational training center of Baumit Bulgaria in the town of Elin Pelin from April 9 to 11. The training, which will last a total of 21 hours, is conducted in person and includes acquiring knowledge about integrated thermal insulation systems (ETICS), which create a healthier and more comfortable living environment.
Participants in the course should have experience with the integration of thermal insulation systems. The training is intended for architects, engineers, employees of design companies, construction experts, and workers from municipalities, construction and supervisory companies. These may include employees of small and medium-sized enterprises in the construction sector, small companies with medium market capitalization, as well as organizations from the public sector (but only for their non-economic activities).
The lecturers are specialists with proven experience in working with integrated thermal insulation systems. The 3-day course includes both the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to energy efficiency using the ETICS system.

The theoretical part of the training covers the relevant regulatory framework, surface inspection and preparation, different types of systems, the impact of indoor conditions on application quality, common application errors, and subsequent quality control.

The practical sessions focus on surface inspection and preparation, the use of components and accessories, and the sequence of application. They include skill development in applying plasters and paints on various surfaces, assessing the influence of indoor conditions on application quality, and controlling the quality of work. Practical training will be conducted using both electric and hand tools and with real materials from production.

The EDIH course on applying GIS to reduce the costs of building and operating infrastructure will be held from April 28 to 30

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) training “Applying GIS to Reduce Infrastructure Construction and Operation Costs” starts on April 28 in our training room and will last until April 30, including a total of 15 hours. The course is face-to-face and will teach participants how to use advanced analytics to plan, design and create a smarter, more efficient, collaborative and sustainable infrastructure environment, while reducing costs, increasing efficiency and improving profitability in construction. The specialized training is designed for engineers, architects and designers with a completed higher education.
Participants will acquire knowledge about the essence and basic concepts related to geographic information systems (GIS), as well as the application of GIS in architecture and construction. Mobile GIS applications and the application of web GIS in the planning, design and construction of buildings and facilities are also part of the training modules. Students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the so-called “operational dashboards”, the use of GIS for working with data from drones in the construction of infrastructure and with IoT and GIS in architecture, design, construction and operation of infrastructure.
In addition to the theoretical part, the lectures include practical demonstrations and exercises under the guidance of the instructor.

The EDIH course “Management and Coordination in the Design Phase, 3D BIM” will be held on April 23 and 24

The course “Management and Coordination in the Design Phase, 3D BIM” of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) will be held in a hybrid form of training – face-to-face and online, on April 23 and 24. An overview of basic concepts, activities and good practices when working with information technologies and digital tools of a general professional nature will be presented. The main topic is related to standardization in the construction industry.
Designed as interrelated and complementary documents, the standards describe the relevant terms and definitions, concepts, processes, prerequisites, including roles and responsibilities, representing good practices in project, program and portfolio management. The standards provide comprehensive guidance on the principles and practices of project management that are important and influence their implementation. In addition, the standards provide an in-depth description of the concepts and processes that determine the creation of good practices in project management. Management and coordination in the design phase, 3D BIM are subject to good practices, and EDIH training examines all these settings in detail.
The course is aimed at experts with higher education who are involved in construction and investment design, project management, consulting and supervision activities or administration.
You can register for the training “Management and Coordination in the Design Phase, 3D BIM” HERE.

EDIH’s course on digitalization of schedule management in construction projects starts on April 2

The European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) course on digitalization of schedule management in construction projects starts on May 2 in our training room and will last a total of 2 days or 16 hours. The training is hybrid – face-to-face and online. The specialized course includes the acquisition of knowledge and skills for applying the standards for preparing schedules in construction project management and skills for working with digital schedule management tools MS Project, BusinessSoft Building and WorkStream Construction. The EDIH training also offers knowledge about the possibilities of BIM 4D modeling (time and schedule) and upgrading the 3D model and data exchange with MS Project and other software products when determining the execution time and schedule of the site.
The main objective of the course is to improve the qualifications of construction specialists engaged in project management, consulting and supervision activities or administration. The course is intended for architects and engineers from design firms, technicians from municipalities and from construction and supervision companies.
The training content includes a total of 7 modules, which are distributed over 16 hours. The first of them is about the standards for developing schedules in construction projects. The next three training modules are related to the capabilities offered by MS Project, and the last three – to mastering skills for working with Businessoft Building.
